The Robot Benchmark is being developed to create independent, comparable ways to understand how robots perform in the situations that matter.
01 / Why now
Robots are moving beyond controlled demonstrations and into warehouses, hospitals, workplaces, public environments and, eventually, homes.
A machine may be able to walk, lift, sort or navigate. That tells us little about how reliably it will perform when conditions change, instructions conflict, people intervene or the unexpected happens.
As robots enter human spaces, decision-makers will need evidence they can compare and trust.
02 / The standard
The Robot Benchmark will develop and govern common approaches to what gets tested, how testing is conducted, how performance is scored and how results can be compared.
Its purpose will be practical: to help turn demonstrations and claims into structured evidence about machines operating in the real world.
A clearer answer to a simple question:
How did this robot actually perform?
